Networked Systems involves the connection and compatibility of many devices and concepts.  This system gave birth to the Internet that we know today.  Devices like routers, types of cables used, IoT devices, etc and concepts like packets, bit rates, data integrity, etc. all play important roles on making Networked Systems work for all devices seemlessly.

A single processor system utilizes a single core for all of its processing tasks.  It is also manages all resources that the system requires.  Compared to multi-core systems, a single processor system utilizes more power for processing as compared to multi-core systems.  Increasing cores does not necessarily mean that processing will be faster.  Most applications cannot handle parallel processing that a multi-core processor provides.
